Héctor Martínez Rodríguez

Welcome! My name is Héctor Martínez Rodríguez. I got my Ph.D. in astrophysics at the University of Pittsburgh. My advisor was Carles Badenes. Our goal was to shed some light over the Type Ia supernova progenitor problem by comparing theoretical models from the stellar evolution code MESA and results from hydrodynamical simulations with spectral data from supernova remnants acquired by the X-ray Japanese satellite Suzaku.

Before that, I got a masters's degree in astrophysics at the Complutense University of Madrid under the supervision of David Montes Gutiérrez and José Antonio Caballero Hernández. I was a member of CARMENCITA, a research group in the context of CARMENES, a project devoted to search for exoplanets. In my free time, I enjoy reading, biking, playing board games, baking and photography.

Here you can find all my publications in ADS and this is my CV.

This is my profile in ResearchGate and this is my GitHub website, where you can find some of my Python scripts.

The best way to contact me is via email: hector.mr@pitt.edu.
